Fabrication and final fitting areas of the factory were each bolstered to help satisfy the current customer demand for our products but of course it’s more than just boosting capacity. “We have spent quite a bit of time chasing people and interviewing and testing candidates to ensure that the skill levels are as high as we can get but also that the new recruits complement and enhance our current factory team.” said Mick. We are delighted to have recruited Dean Taylor (on the left in the photo) and Darren Jackson (centre) into the fabrication facility as well as Jake Revill (right) as a new apprentice Electrical/Hydraulic fitter. All three bring the right attitude and approach as well as a high degree of skill…or future skill in Jake’s case!

As well as factory recruitment, Dicom have also been strengthening their service team with the addition of 2 further field service engineers. Callum Church (on the left) has been recruited to provide service around the South Wales/Bristol area and is Royal Navy trained. Tomasz Adamczyk (on the right) will provide service around Milton Keynes/Northampton area and joins us from the food industry.

Mick was ably assisted by Steve Lenton (Dicom Finance Director) in the recruitment process which saw us scour dozens of CV’s before the two stage interview process. Geographical location of the new recruits was a major consideration as we look to minimise what is already an impressive response time to customer service. Again we are delighted to have Callum and Tomasz with us.

Staff update: On Wednesday 9th July, Chesterfield College (our Apprenticeship Learning provider) visited Dicom to review the end of Nathan Knowles’s two year NVQ apprenticeship in Fabrication and Welding. We are very pleased to announce that Nathan passed his NVQ level 2 with very high marks, including a distinction in the science and calculations module. Nathan has expressed a desire to progress for a further two years to complete the NVQ level 3 in Plating… and of course we are more than happy to support Nathan on this.

Over the last 34 years, Dicom Limited has become the UK`s leading manufacturer and supplier of static and portable waste compactors. The waste compactors are designed and developed for durability, high performance and ease of operation. This is important to organisations wishing to reduce the frequency and cost of waste collections or where space and hygiene are important factors. This is achieved by significantly reducing the ratio of waste from its original volume. Dependent upon the type of material, a Dicom waste compactor can reduce the waste volume by a ratio of 4:1. This ensures that maximum payloads are achieved with each container. Dicom's portable waste compactors can be supplied with several standard options, such as: liquid retentive seals to prevent food waste leakage, bin lifting equipment for lug and comb type waste containers, choice of standard hopper – open splayed, enclosed, dock loading. The static compactors are also available with a range of hopper options and tipping mechanisms and are available in a range of sizes to suit all volumes. Our equipment can be seen working in almost any industry including manufacturing, retail, leisure, hospitals, restaurants, food production, HM Forces, transport, schools & colleges, warehousing and is often used by waste and recycling contractors to process materials such as cardboard, plastics, food and general waste. Our products meet a range of wide and varied requirements, including the latest health and safety standards, and we offer a range of payment options from outright purchase, rental or lease; so regardless of your waste handling needs, Dicom have the solution.
